You’re engaged – congratulations! A celebration is a must when it comes to engagements. An engagement is something that is life changing and can be so exciting. Take some time to celebrate and recognize how far you have come in your relationship and how lucky you are to have found your significant other to journey through life with.

Have you thought about how you’re going to announce your engagement? If not, don’t worry we’ve got some ideas up our sleeves. The perfect way to celebrate is different for each couple so do what feels right for you.

Here are some suggestions on how to celebrate your engagement!

Screen Your Love Story

Invite your friends and family over and rent a projector to bring your love story into a real-life romantic comedy with an outdoor movie theater party. Show photos and videos of your relationship and engagement!

Host a party

Gathering all of your friends (possible bridesmaids and groomsmen) and family to celebrate you and your fiance in the place that you call home is so special. Cater food in, create some fun signature drinks, and have a fun activity relating to you as a couple – guess who?

Make It a Surprise

Surprise all of your friends and family with your engagement! Make sure to have a camera recording because you are going to want their reactions on video (:

Take a trip together

Whether you decide to get away for the evening to celebrate alone or a weekend getaway, we love the idea of an intimate celebration between the newly engaged couple to enjoy this time before the planning begins.Take advantage of this time and start talking about wedding plans (:

Visit the place where you first met

Elevate Your Mind Media

Make it a date and go visit the place where you first met each other. Make a whole day out of it by taking some photos, having lunch together and making a new memory at a new location that you can come back and visit. This is a nice way to remember where you started as a couple, where you are now, and to think about the future.

Staycation

Lock yourselves in and enjoy this time together! Plan a staycation weekend to celebrate the two of you.

Pro Tip: reflect on your relationship together and share your favorite memories together

Take engagement photos

Getting engagement photos is a great way to not only announce your engagement but to also commemorate the moments before you were married. Engagement photos are the first mile marker in your wedding planning journey. They are fun, low stress, and a great way to get comfortable with your future photographer for the wedding day!

Sharing elements of how your significant other popped the question

Did your significant other spell it out in the sand or have your fur-puppy wear a cute bandana asking you to marry them? Include them in a picture that you can post for a fun and cute way to share your great news!

Candid photos

If someone was there capturing the moment, what better way to share the news with photos of your reaction to your significant other popping the question! Your friends and family will feel as if they were there with you the moment it all unfolded.

Showing off your ring

Flex that finger and take a picture! Strike a pose and show off that gorgeous new ring of yours, take a picture, share it, and let the photo reveal your announcement.

Get creative

Want to share your engagement in a creative way? Get a cute mug that says Mrs. that you can not only pose with and take a picture to share the news, but also use it on your wedding day and beyond!

If you got engaged at a destination

Posting pictures from not only your amazing destination vacation, but also your engagement! Take a photo of your hand and ring with one of your favorite places from your vacation.
